Interregional Migration in Modern Russia (Territorial Dimension)

The article analyzes the migration processes in modern Russia, particularly, the distribution of migration flows within the country, both in federal district and in regional contexts. Using cluster analysis highlighted groups (clusters) of regions with the closest indicators of migration flow directions and migrants’ quality characteristics (level of education).

Migration Activity Population of the Saratov Region’s Municipal District

This article describes intra-regional, interregional and international types of migration at the level of municipalities of the region. There are 38 municipal districts in Saratov region; the majority has both urban  and rural population. During the study it was found that intra-regional migration is mainly directed to the Saratov agglomeration, both in urban and rural areas (Saratov, Engels), Balakovo. Saratov region is attractive for migrants (mostly) from the CIS countries. Interregional migration loss is typical for the region throughout the 2000s.

Space-time Features of Formation of Droughts in the Conditions of Changing Climate Saratov Region

In the article the comparative analysis of repeatability of droughts of different intensity is presented in the separate interval of vegetation period on the natural zones of the Saratov area in 1951–1980 years and after 1981–2015 years. Centers of origin of droughts and their repetition on the area of coverage of the territory are shown. Agrometeorological description of the cruelest droughts is given, and consequences over of their influence are brought on gross collections of grain in the Saratov area.

Construction the System of Maps to Support Environmental Researches of Petroleum Industry Facilities

There is an overview of actual environmental research practice and its map support in this article. The overview demonstrates peculiarities and disadvantages of ecological mappping on different stages of petroleum object life-cycle. The main disadvantage of the current practice that the setries of maps have different content and they are made in different scales. As a result we suggested a list of mandatory mas which show a minimum of necessary data about nature, technical objects, impacts.

This article discusses the probability of long-term weather forecasts. For example, the long-term forecast of rainfalls the possibility of using assessment techniques to forecast short-term to the assessment of the probability of long-term forecasts.

In this article the author gives the analysis of the characteristics of devasted lands on the base of the field route research of Saratov’s territory. The types of devasted lands were discovered, their short description was composed, the area of each territory’s type was counted. The principal districts of the concentrationof the devasted lands are given, the specificity of their morphogenetic types, are examined.

The Calculations of the Indices of Continentality of Climate for the Middle and Lower Volga Region

In the article was calculated the annual amplitude in air temperature for 12 stations the Middle Volga Region and the Lower Volga region for to assess the continentality of the region and defined indices of continentality of the climate in five formulas of different authors. The calculation allows to select Zavolzhsky districts of the Saratov and Volgograd regions in region with the most favorable conditions for the cultivation wheat of high-protein.

Changes in the Ethnic Heterogeneity of the Volga Federal District

The article discusses changes in the ethnic diversity of regions of the Volga Federal District for the period of 1989–2010. The most and least ethnically heterogeneous regions are revealed. There is a growing heterogeneity in some regions. The article describes settlement of Russians throughout the subjects of the Volga Federal District. The changes in the urbanization of ethnic groups are shown.

The Possibility of GIS Technologies using for internal University educational Risk Overcoming (with Geography Faculty of Saratov State University as an Example)

The article presents the experience of overcoming of one of the most domestic internal educational risk – the risk of the number of entrants incompetence. The article presents some aspects of the problem of isolation and mapping of urban ecotones. The study of transition zones is necessary not only to determine the boundaries of natural and man-made systems, but also to determine the internal structure and mechanisms of functioning of ecotones. One of the main difficulties mapping ehkotonnyh bands, is the lack of a common classification in step significantly complicates mapping.

The article presents an analysis of the synoptic and agrometeorological conditions prevailing in the region in the autumn of 2016. Shown anomaly hydrothermal regime and assessed the impact of the prevailing conditions at the seeding, the autumn vegetation and tempering of winter crops.

Effects of Space Factors in Surface Air Temperature Variations

The digital spectral analysis was carried out for centennial dataset of mean daily values of the surface air temperature anomalies at Basel weather station. In the power spectra of dataset peaks are found, which are associated with the influence of various terrestrial and space factors: the quasibiennialoscillation, the pole tide, luni-solar tides, the rotation of the Earth – Moon system around the barycenter, and the solar activity.
