Kimmeridgian–Volgian ostracods of Samarskaya Luka: Paleoecological analysis and reflection of sedimentation conditions in rock magnetism

The analysis of the distribution of the Kimmeridgian–Volgian ostracods in the section near the village Valy made it possible to establish a sequence of eight communities, the change of which reflects changes in the ecological conditions in the basin. Changes in sea level fluctuations, the main physical and chemical parameters of the ostracod habitat – temperature, salinity of water, oxygen content in it, eutrophy and concentration of organic matter in sediment – are reconstructed. Information on the magnetic susceptibility and its increase after heating was obtained.

Cyclostratigraphic Analysis of the Rock Magnetic Data on Maastrichtian of the Bodrak River (SW Crimea)

Measurements of mass magnetic susceptibility of 2 232 samples, collected in Takma and Chakhmakhly sections (SW Crimea, Bodrak river) through every 20 cm of thickness were conducted. The cycles, supposedly corresponding to the periods of long and short eccentricities of Earth orbit and its axis obliquity were detected by Fourier transform and wavelet analysis of obtained data. The average sedimentation rate (11.7 cm/kyr) was calculated.

The Research Results of the Physical Properties of Soil in the Village Piterka and Their Ecological Importance

The results of the study of soil in the village Piterka Saratov region. It analyzed the particle size distribution and magnetic susceptibility of soils. The results of particle size analysis can form an idea of the sorption properties of soil, and the results of measurement of the magnetic susceptibility – the transformation of the soil and brings man-made magnetic material.

Petromagnetic Effect of an unsoluble residue distribution in the sylvinite Layer Section of the Gremyachinskoe Deposit

The article presents results of the detailed petromagnetic analysis of the core samples of the potassium salts of the Kungurian potassium salt complex in the Gremyachinskoe deposit (Volgograd region), which allowed for obtaining additional information on the stratigraphic rhythmicity and for substantiating the correlation levels.

About Possible Reflexion of Paleocological Conditions in Petromagnesism of Kallovian - Oxfordian Deposits of Dubki Section (Saratov)

As a result of the complex analysis of petromagnetic, micro- and macrofaunistic data of deposits on the Kallovian – Oxfordian boundary of Dubki section (Saratov), which is one of candidates for a role of a Global Boundary Stratotype Section and Point of Oxfordian boundary (GSSP), it is established significant correlation between magnetic susceptibility variations and changes of an abundance, a specific variety of ostracodes, foraminiferes and ammonites.

New Data on Magnetic Properties of Upper Paleozoic Deposits in the South of Precaspian Depression

The magnetic properties of igneous and sedimentary rocks of Lower Carboniferous and Upper Permian, were studied in the core samples from the boreholes, situated in the south of Precaspian depression. The volcanic rocks of Lower Carboniferous are characterized by low (first decades 10-5 SI units), and Upper Permian – by high (hundreds and first thousands 10-5 SI units) values of volume magnetic susceptibility.

Experience of Cyclostratigraphic Analysis of Petromagnetic Data on the Turonian–Maastrihtian Section «Nizhnyaya Bannovka» (Volga River Right Bank, Southern Saratov Region)

On the base of spectral Fourier analysis of magnetic susceptibility time series of nearly 10 000 measurements of rock samples in the turonian-maastrihtian sediments, exposed near Nizhnyaya Bannovka village (Volga River Right Bank, Southern Saratov Region) there were detected long and short eccentricity cycles. Petromagnetic variations, correlated with different variants of eustatic curves detected the presence of well known sequences. The study includes the calculations of sedimentation rates, localization of sedimentation breaks and estimation of their duration.

Petromagnetic Indicators of Layers with High Concentration of Cosmogenic Substance in Maastrichtian of Volga Region and Cis-Caspian Region

The level with anomalous high values of natural remanent magnetization and Koenigsberger ratios was identify in the Upper Maastrichtian of Vol’sk depression (Saratov Volga Region). The microprobe studies of samples from this layer registered elevated concentrations of microparticles of iron, nickel, intermetallics and magnetite spherules of cosmic genesis. Similar petromagnetic anomaly was detect in the uppermost of Maastrichtian in the South Cis-Caspian (Aktolagay Plateau, Kazakhstan).

Posible Sources of magnetic Anomalies in the South of Precaspian Depression

In connection with Carboniferous, Permian and Triassic rocks, marked by magnetic susceptibility of thousand and dozens of thousands (10-5 SI units) that are located in southern part of Precaspian Depression, samples of these rocks were studied in details, using strongly magnetic samples. The possible effects of anomalous magnetic field were counted on the base of received data.

Geo-environmental Assessment of Soil Condition in the Zone of Influence Guselskogo Landfill Solid Waste of the City of Saratov

Investigations of soil in the affected area landfill solid waste. Investigated grain size, magnetic susceptibility, acid-base indicator, redox potential, the content of humus in the soil. On the basis of the data obtained in preliminary conclusions about the state of geo-environmental soil cover.
